1994 Lamborghini Diablo SE30 JOTA #25 of 25! A truly RARE find! Finished in 30th Anniversary Purple over black, this limited production car is perhaps one of the most sought after collector cars ever produced by Lamborghini. With only 150 of these cars being produced worldwide, 1 of only 25 making it to the US, and only 2 fitted with FACTORY JOTA kit, this car is a collectors dream.
It has 9,072 km/5,442 miles documented; 30th Anniversario Purple (signature color for this limited series); Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires; laser balanced and corner jacked; Custom sport exhaust (open pipes from headers on back) and currently registered in State of California; dyno-tested at 578 bhp at crank without full induction (Over 600 bhp conservatively estimates at speed with maximum air flow); original owners manual; original sales brochure and original tools. The car is truly stunning.
Automobili Lamborghini SpA introduced their SE30 Diablo model as a limited edition, only 150 would be made, each one numbered and bearing a special plaque stating which serial number the car had ... but within this already very limited production run you could request an even more exclusive car : a Diablo SE30 with a Jota upgrade. The reason for the Jota was Lamborghinis desire to enter the highly successful FIA BPR racing series. To meet FIA requirements, that there must be at least 25 road going examples. Most sources state only 12 or 15 Diablo SE 30 editions were delivered in the JOTA specifications directly from the factory, however the factory has said 28 Jota packages were made. Due to the fact that the Jota package was Lamborghini’s only factory effort to enter GT racing, the factory supplied the remaining 12-14 kits to owners of SE 30’s to be part of the privateer racing group. Of the 28 cars, only 2 were ever raced. Both were in Japan with the highest position being a second place finish, though the car did lead most of the race. But for Lamborghini it was a win. Their car had competed against the like of the Ferrari F40, McLaren F1’a and Porsche GT’s and held it own. The Jota upgrade consisted of a new, redesigned engine cover with two big air scoops that provided a huge ram air effect into the motor. The engine itself had different cams, intakes, throttle bodies, and the newly patented LIE M-Tec injection system. It was a total re-engineer of the entire top half of the motor that produced 600bhp. Of the 28 Jota’s there are very few left today. Many were written off in accidents do to their tremendous power and light weight in the hands of novice drivers. Of the ones that are left, only a small handful actually run and run properly. Car #25 is one of those cars. The car was featured as one of the most significant historical Lamborghinis at The Quail 2008. It is in concourse condition and perfect running order.
