This 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake Tribute is done to remember the 1 of 1 Super-Snake built for Goodyear high speed tire testing. The ONE and ONLY real when sold for close to 3 Million Dollars to a private collector. This was the last year of Shelby’s direct involvement in the GT-500, with the Le Mans winning original design and a beast of a 427 side-oiler type motor. Restored by world renowned Terry Scarborough Restorations at Sears Pt. Raceway and finished in pristine Wimbledon White with the EXACT and CORRECT stripe code, beautiful Le Mans Blue. It was built with the best mechanical and suspension parts available today, to weigh less, accelerate hard, and steer like a modern car. It sits on ORIGINAL OEM Shelby 10 spoke wheels with NEW tires to drive and operate as a truly great car. Having over $131,000 DOCUMENTED into this build makes it such a clean example to be added to any collection.

Engine:
All ALUMINUM Carroll Shelby Ent. 427 FE block - CSX block #470. Engine built by master Ford builder Keith Craft. 427 stroked to 482ci -10.25 compression with Edelbrock Cobra-Jet alum. heads, T&D roller rockers matched with an aggressive Comp-Cams hydraulic roller cam. Canton oil system with remote filters. Holley electric fuel system, Mallory unilite distributor and MSD ignition system. (Build sheet available). Dyno'd at 620hp/627ft-lbs torque. The best parts money can buy. Engine alone cost $31,000+ and weighs less than a small block.

Suspension/Steering:
Total Control power rack & pinion steering, with all new Global West negative-roll suspension parts. Maier Racing springs with Koni shocks and car lowered 2” for aggressive look and improved handling, with Baer brake tracker bump steer tie-rods. Total Control motor mounts, with shock tower brace, MPG quick release export bar, sub frame connectors, Global West left springs and Del-A-Lum bushings and Calvert racing traction bars. Master Power brake booster with original Kelsey Hayes disc brakes and brake proportion valve. BF Goodrich 255 radial TA’s in the rear and 225 radical TA’s in front on ORIGINAL OEM Shelby 10 spoke wheels. 

Drivetrain:
Big block NASCAR 4-speed toploader transmission with Hurst competition shifter, and SFI certified Quick-Time Scatter-shield, with a heavy duty clutch assembly, using a custom 11” circular bolt pattern pressure plate design with larger/stronger GM 3/8”ARP -200,000 psi bolts & Kevlar material clutch disc. Roller pilot bearing with smooth roller bearing clutch pedal and heim joints used on z-bar rod. Detroit Locker rear-end and 31 spline axles with 3.0 gears for enjoyable lower RPM freeway driving.

Cooling:
Griffin Alum. Radiator with custom 11” built in dual electric fans/shroud cooling system with dual relays. Edelbrock aluminum water pump with 160 thermostat for always cool driving.

Misc:
Ceramic coated Hooker Super Comp long tube headers, with H-pipe exhaust and Flowmasters. March alum. pulleys with light Tilton high torque mini-starter and driveshaft safety loop. Original deluxe interior with Shelby roll bar, Simpson race seat belts and harness with fire extinguisher between seats. Functional side scoops cooling the brakes, plus many other features.
